2. Mix the Paint and Pearl:

3. Spraying the Pearlescent Pigment Layer:

• Use the correct equipment: A spray gun with an appropriate nozzle size is required (0.8 – 1.7 mm depending on the size of the pearlescent pigment).
• Layer application: We recommend doing test sprays before the first direct application. For direct application, apply thin, evenly overlapping layers. The first layer may only provide partial coverage. Apply 3 to 7 layers, depending on the desired final effect. Adhere to the flash-off times between layers according to the instructions in the technical data sheet.
• Shake the gun during spraying: Regularly shake the spray gun or paint container to prevent the pearlescent pigments from settling at the bottom.
• Complete the surface finish: Continue to apply layers until you achieve the desired coverage and effect. This will create the depth and shine of the final finish.

4. Finishing the Process:

• Paint drying: Allow the paint to dry for a sufficient amount of time.
• Apply the final clear coat: Once the pearlescent pigments have dried to the required level for lacquer application, apply one or more clear layers of clear coat to protect against wear and enhance the shine.

Tips and Maintenance:

• Regular mixing: Before each spraying, mix the mixture thoroughly so that the pigments do not settle at the bottom of the container.

• Substrate: For the best effect, use a base color in a similar shade as the substrate.

• Spraying: Never let the pearlescent pigment paint dry completely before applying the next layer, otherwise it could peel later.
